Dr. Jacobs incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques; insight-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy when appropriate. Dr. Jacobs works with individuals, couples and families on a short-term and long-term basis. She refines her treatment interventions to meet the specific needs of each client. She strives to create a warm and supportive environment where clients feel safe and trust is established. Dr. Jacobs helps adults who are struggling with a range of emotional issues including relationships.
Treatment issues may include relationship challenges, parenting difficulties, career issues, repetitive and negative behavioral patterns, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, separation and divorce, life transitions, traumas and the death of a loved one.
Reproductive Support
Dr. Jacobs has a special interest in women’s issues and those impacting new mothers. These can include reproductive challenges of infertility, third party reproduction, adoption, and adjustment to motherhood and post-partum depression. This stress can be managed through learning new coping skills, improving confidence and enhancing communication with ones partner. In order to provide the best care possible, Dr. Jacobs will make referrals to other professionals and collaborate if needed.
